EU youth chess championship start


At Wednesday August 28th in the Hotel Petr Bezruč in Malenovice the 11th EU Youth Chess Championship under 8, 10, 12, 14 years old will begin. EU Youth Chess Championship 2013 under the patronage of the ECU is organized by Šachový klub Světlá nad Sázavou in cooperation with The Czech Chess Federation.
Boys and girls will play in the same tournament. Eventually boys and girls will be evaluated separately. The tournament will be played according to the Swiss System in 9 rounds. The rate of play will be according to FIDE regulations 90min for the whole game + 30 sec increment for each move played. Every day there is one round played. There are 110 players registered until today. We are going to welcome 15 national federations.
The main arbiter FA Ing. Petr Záruba will during the every round update results continuously, ranking after every round and pairings for next round on the official event’s website and the official website of The Czech Chess Federation. On the official website we will release news. Among others you can await a photo gallery.
Not only for player’s parents and chess fans the organizers got ready on-line transmissions of all games. Our friends of The Slovakian Chess Federation are helping us get ready the on-line transmissions.
All participants can use the leisure time activities offered by the hotel. Among others there is available saltwater pool, sauna, wellness, salt cave, bowling, bike rental or massage.
On Wednesday August 5th we are going to know new 8 champions of EU for the year 2013. For the best placed players there are prepared valuable prices including among others 8 notebooks and 16 digital clocks DGT XL. All participants will receive memorial diploma and medal for their place. Every player will receive at least one price since they will be given before beginning a T-shirt with logo of the championship.
